Andrew Davies is a television and film writer who has won many awards, including several BAFTAs and an Emmy. Although his TV writing career began in 1966, he became most widely known for his 1995 adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. He has written over 65 television serials and plays, 6 films and 4 novels. He has also written for the stage. 2008 saw the release of his adaptation of the novel Affinity by Sarah Waters and the epic TV serialisation of Dickens’ Little Dorrit.
